Applications are invited from eligible candidates with at least 50% marks in M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. along with Honours at the Degree level & with at least 55% marks in the B.Ed. degree in prescribed form obtainable from the University Sales Counter on payment of Rs. 100/- for General category & Rs. 50/- for the candidates belonging to SC / ST & DA categories and also downloaded from C.U. official website www.caluniv.ac.in and deposited the requisite above mentioned fees through challan to the cash counter for admission to the Master of Education Course in the

The candidates employed on full time basis must apply through proper channel and furnish a no objection certificate from their employer at the time of submission of Application forms. Self-attested copies of Mark Sheets of B.A. / B.Sc. / B.com. (Honours), M.A. / .M.Sc. / M.Com., B.Ed., NET., SET, M.Phil., Ph.D. and age proof certificate are to be submitted with the application forms in the office of the Secretary (Acting), Alipur Campus 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata - 27 (Office, Department of Education, 3rd floor). Incomplete forms will be rejected. Selection will be made through admission test and as per University and NCTE norms. Deputed teachers need not sit for admission test. Total intake capacity comprising the above mentioned 3(three) Institutions is 105. Out of the total seats 50% will be reserved for the deputed teachers and the rest 50% will be reserved for fresher candidates. All fresher (C.U. & Non-C.U.) candidates will appear for the admission test. Selection will be made strictly in order of merit and subject quota for 60% of seats for C.U. candidates and also for rest 40% of seats for C.U. and Non-C.U. candidates the same procedure will be followed. The admission will follow the subject quota as approved like

• Social Science and Accountancy - 40%
• Science and Mathematics - 40%
• Language - 20%

  Admission Test Procedure  

The students will be admitted on the basis of MCQ test, where the questions will appear from the three core papers of B.Ed. Syllabus,2012 of University of Calcutta, on OMR sheet with 50 questions carrying 2 marks, adhering to the standardized format of MCQ of the University. For each correct answer 2 marks, for wrong answer minus 0.5 marks, and for not attempted 0 (Zero) marks will be awarded. If there is a tie of marks obtained in the written entrance test amongst the candidates then the candidates with less negative marking will be placed in higher position in the merit list than the other candidate.

Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe applicants from the other States will not get the reservation facility of SC/ST.
Age limit : 40 years as on 30.6.2014 for fresher candidates and 55 years as on 30.6.2014 for candidates employed in Secondary/Higher Secondary Schools, Colleges, Govt. and Semi Govt. organizations. There is a relaxation of age for maximum of 5(five) years for students belonging to Scheduled Caste ,Schedule Tribe and Differently Abled categories.

• Date of availability of application form : 27.3.2014 to 07.04.2014.
• Date of submission of application form :
  27.03.2014 to 07.04.2014 between 11:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
• List of eligible candidates for Admission Test will be published on : 23.04.2014 at 3:00 P.M.
• Date of distribution of Admit Card from the Department of Education, Alipur Campus, C.U. on :
  28.4.2014 and 29.4.2014 between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 P.M.

• Venue and time of the Admission Test will be mentioned in the Admit Card.

• Mark-sheet showing the grade point should also show the % of marks obtained by the candidate from the concerned authority.
• Reporting time for attending counseling on both days is at 11:00 A.M. No Candidate will be allowed to enter the counseling hall/room after 11:30 A.M.
• Candidates eligible for attending counseling must bring with them all testimonials in original, attested Xerox copy of SC/ST/D.A.(PH) and two pass port size photographs. The fee structure for admission in different Institutions will be displayed on the notice board of the Department of Education, C.U. on 20.05.2014.
